Today was the second Language Table of the semester. As February 3rd is Setsubun, we had a Setsubun theme! Setsubun is celebrated by throwing dry beans at “oni” (demons) to keep away bad luck. Ehomaki (lucky maki rolls) are eaten facing this year’s lucky direction. For 2019, the lucky direction is east-northeast!
Student Council President Hazel Simpson explained the Setsubun tradition to everyone. Jiaming and Shuu volunteered to be the oni!
